Bonus Round 0 is now closed, and Bonus Round 1 is now open! Let's get creating, shall we?

This round, the theme is book-based AUs.

If you have an idea for something you'd like to see, please leave a book title, the characters involved, and any other details as a PROMPT below. Then read through everyone else's prompts, and leave a FILL for any which catch your eye. Fills can be in any media, and they need not be long, but please put a little effort in--if anyone starts spamming this post for points, we'll be able to tell.

You should place PROMPT/FILL, your current team affiliation and a brief summary in the comment title. NSFW prompts and fills should mention this in the summary or at the top of the post.

You will be awarded five points per prompt for the first five prompts you leave. The first three fills posted for each prompt will receive 15 points, the next three 10 points, and the next three 5 points. Prompts with ten or more fills will no longer receive fill points.

Bonus rounds are still rarepair only, but you can post prompts or fills for any rare ship this round, including gen/platonic ones (which should be indicated with an & as above). However, you may not fill your own prompt. We also encourage people not to fill prompts from their teammates, although the points will not be deducted if you do.

Bonus round fills can include links provided they are publicly viewable. Works can also be cross-posted to other websites, as there is no anonymity requirement in bonus rounds. However, works posted directly to comments will be limited to 16,000 characters by the Dreamwidth comment limit. Longer works should therefore be divided between multiple comments.

Remember, Team Chuck can participate in bonus rounds, and if you change teams, points earned will transfer with you until the end of the team shuffle period.

PROMPT, TEAM CASTIEL/CROWLEY, GREAT GATSBY AU

I want to see Crowstiel (what I can whore out my own ship right?) set in the world of The Great Gatsby (and I personally want to write a fic in which it's The Great Gatsby but Crowley is Gatsby, Cas is Daisy, and so on and so forth because holy shit I'm seeing it all fall into place in my head I must do this). Specifically, I want to read Cas and Crowley attending one of Gatsby's parties (I think Cas would be dragged there by Dean or something) and they manage to meet and hit it off amongst all the decadence somehow. They may have sex if you please, but if you don't want to write smut that's fine because smut is an art and not everyone has the talent, I know I don't. Any characters from The Great Gatsby itself may make an appearance if you'd like as long as it makes sense for them to be at the party. You can also include any other SPN characters as well, though I did suggest Dean.
Oh, I'd just like to add as a little note of enthusiasm, as a freshman English major, this bonus round is making me squeal. I cannot wait to see all the prompts and fills you all can come up with based on books, because it's going to be beautiful.

Prompt, Team Benny/Dean, Hunger Games AU

It's corny, but: Benny as a tribute from an outer district (doesn't have to be 12, but can be) and Dean as one of the Careers whose dad died in the game, who volunteered for Sam the way Katniss did for Prim. They aren't pushed together by the Capital like Peeta and Katniss, though- they find each other and protect each other, and when they team up with Castiel (probably another Career) Cas finds a way to hint at them without the cameras seeing that they'd get more sponsors if they played it up.

AU based on the book Openly Straight, in which Dean is out (either as bisexual or gay) but his family is /way too accepting/ and feels the need to go to literally every event and organize some of their own and set him up on dates, and it's great, it really is, but he doesn't like being in the limelight, so when he goes to a new boarding school for all boys, he decides to pretend to be straight- not so much going back into the closet as refusing to admit there is one. The plan, of course, falls through when he falls hard for a football player named Benny. (Bonus: I can totally see Ash as his weird roommate with a police scanner, and Cas as the friend that stops by who is gay that Dean has to lie to about his own sexuality rather than just not say anything)

Just interested in some general interaction with the characters and the houses dynamics between them and possibly keeping the species layer there as well. Do all the humans stick together, regardless of house? Is Lucifer the Lord Voldemort equivalent and demons as purebloods? Are reapers the thestrals that only some people can see? Or maybe just some day to day interactions - classes, quidditch match, gala ball.

AU based on Fahrenheit 451 where Bobby has a secret collection of books and Crowley manages a printing press, and they make a deal about Bobby's books: Crowley will print copies, as long as Bobby promises to help him leave the city, whether or not the man decides to gather up his books and come along for the ride.

Fresh from his brief stay at a psych hospital for excessive self harm, news reporter Dean Winchester is forced to go back to his hometown of Lawrence, Kansas to investigate the murder of two young girls. Years have passed since Dean left his hometown to live in Chicago. For all those years he's never spoken of or with his obsessive and easily angered father nor with his half-brother Adam who he hardly knows. With the memory of his real younger brother's premature death, Sam, heavy on his shoulders, he rushes to get this assignment done and back to Chicago.
He's fighting the urge to go back to his old ways. And it's hard to cut cold turkey.
But then an investigator with blue eyes comes down from out of town and just so happens to be working on the murder as well. It was only an interview before Dean fell for Mr. Benny Lafitte.

Jo wants to be a knight and her brother Ash wants to be a sorcerer. So they switch places, and Jo's well on her way to knighthood when she comes across Dean Winchester, king of thieves.

Jo is an out of work lingerie salesperson, hey it was a job okay?, with 30 dollars to her name, a box of wheat thins, and a hungry hamster. Desperate for a job she turns to the last people on earth she should, her family. Showing up at her uncle's bail bonds storefront was not ideal, uncle Bobby was a nice enough guy if not a little rough around the edges, but a job was a job. Teaming up with Mr Bad News himself Dean Winchester,and the battle worn street savvy Bela Talbot - Jo sets out to bring in the bad guy, get the girl, save the day, and maybe not get evicted from her apartment in the meantime.

PROMPT, Team Crowley/Sam, Inkheart AU

Not following the events of Inkheart itself but within the universe, I'd like to see a fic where a few of the SPN characters are Silvertongues. Crowley or Lucifer would be perfect, perhaps reading some of the other characters out of a book? I don't really mind whether it's gen or with a pairing or two, but I do think the dynamics within the Inkheart world could be really interesting.
Lucifer fascinated by Gabriel and Sam after reading them out of a book, or Crowley reading Meg and Castiel out of a book and losing someone else in the process, or whatever.

PROMPT: Team Dean/Castiel/Samandriel, The Picture of Dorian Gray AU

I'd like to see Michael as Dorian Gray and his downward spiral into madness (or sin, whatever you wanna call it) but later on in his life he meets Adam and tries to better himself. The ending is up to whoever may or may not fill this as to weather Michael is able to redeem himself through the power of love or if he perishes in the same fashion as the book.

From the monster's POV when he stumbles upon Dean, Castiel, and Samandriel (Alfie) living in a simple cottage in the woods. Basically the monster learns from watching the trio and clearly he can see all of their interactions, but he never picks up on the fact that they are romantically involved with each other.

PROMPT, Team Dean/Michael, Vampire Chronicles

It doesn't have to be exactly the same. Something based on Interview with the Vampire, with Michael as Louis and Lucifer as Lestat. Michael is suicidal after the loss of a love one and Lucifer is a vampire who ends up being fascinated by him and gives him the option to die or join him as a vampire.

It can be modern setting.

Anna Milton volunteers as a Tribute after her little brother, Castiel, is chosen. All hell breaks loose and our young redhead has to make some tough decisions in order to survive. In the area she meets Ruby, a badass Tribute who wants them to work together. Everything seems great until Anna realizes the brunette is more than an ally to her and one of them is gonna have to kill the other in the end.

PROMPT, Team Crowley/Sam, Dexter AU

I'd love a Dexter AU with the Sam/Gabriel/Lucifer ship. I'm thinking Lucifer in the place of the man with the Dark Passenger, and with Michael as his nosy brother who works alongside him at the police department. I want Lucifer to go after Gabriel and then realize that Gabriel isn't doing nasty shit for no reason - he, much like Lucifer himself, is punishing ill deeds.
Cue Lucifer ending up in bed with Gabriel and Sam, or ending up in a more gen relationship if you'd rather.
I think Lucifer&Crowley could work really well in the context, too, with them working alongside each other.

PROMPT, Team Crowley/Sam, His Dark Materials AU

How about some Philip Pullman?
I'd like to see a gen AU with some of the daemons being demons to our humans and angels. Say, Crowley being Sam's daemon, Meg being Castiel's, Ruby's being Anna's, and so forth. I don't mind if they're on an adventure or if it's just snark and sass whilst around each other, the daemons playing together or what have you.

Anna is a badass Auror who's life goal is to find and kill Ruby, a Death Eater who killed her brother years ago. Bonus points if Anna finds out Ruby's a double agent, although it's not necessary.

Prompt, Team Abaddon/Naomi , CARRIE AU

I would love to see an AU in which Naomi had been raised by a very strict, zealously religious mother who had alienated her from the world. In high school, she is avoided by a majority of the students, who perhaps find her too proper and stuck up. It’s only then that Naomi meets the infamous Abaddon, with her bright lipstick and carefully made hair. It is soon after Naomi discovers her telekinetic powers that Abby shows her the best ways to ditch school, and the next few weeks are spent with the girls exploring new ways to rebel—Naomi against her mother, Abaddon against the world.

It ends with the prom. This idea can be explored from many angles, but I’m particularly fond of Abaddon holding Naomi’s hand as Naomi destroys the school and everyone in it.

God is dead and there are numerous king and queens who want a hold on a throne which they believe is divinely their, like Michael, Raphael, Eve, Dick Roman, and Lucifer. The humans among the land just want peace and not to see the land ravaged in war. Some of the members from the other houses begin to see what a mistake all this fighting is (Gabriel, Castiel) and wish to help the humans eliminate the monarchical system altogether. Just for what you think any character might be doing in their equivalent Westeros position. Is Crowley the Master of Whisperers who sells secrets? Are Dean and Sam the former king's bastards, living as peasants?

PROMPT, Team Crowley/Sam, The Diamond Brothers AU

I don't know how many people will know of the series, but The Diamond Brothers is this hilarious series by Anthony Horowitz.
I want Gabriel to be the world's WORST, easily distracted, private detective, and for Anna to be his younger sister who is considerably better at the job than Gabriel.
It could be gen with them just getting into amusing shenanigans, or it could end with Anna going on a date with this really cute girl called Ruby and Gabriel trying to spy, or any number of things. Cue puns and hilarity!

PROMPT, Team Crowley/Sam, Dr Dolittle AU

Okay, so, for the sake of having a flustered Castiel paired with an indulgent Meg - how about a Dr Dolittle AU?
We have Castiel, our regular worker, comfortable in his job even if his boss, Lucifer, is kind of a dick. He loves the guys he works with, and he's happy with his life, all in all.
Until one day, he starts hearing the animals talk. He tries to get away from it, but ends up assisting in the animals' plights all the same, and in this way he meets Meg, who works at an animal shelter.
She thinks Castiel is a little odd, but egh, what the Hell? He's pretty, after all.
I think Meg and Cas' dynamic could be really great.

PROMPT: Angelic Fight Club [Team Balthazar/Castiel]

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest beings the Lord ever made. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire species cast from the sky, forced to kill our family; slaves with wings. God has us chasing forgiveness and revelation, protecting humans we hate so we can please a Father who doesn't care. We're the firstborns of history, man. All purpose and place. We have no Free Will. No Hope of Peace. Our Will is His Will... our Hope of Peace is Death. We've all been raised on prayer and song to believe that one day we’d be allowed to live ourselves. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

Prompt, Team Balthazar/Castiel, The Song of Achilles AU

AU. Based on the book The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Dean takes on the role of Achilles, the callous and arrogant prince who is tender to none other than his closest friend Patroclus (Castiel). So despite their differences in personality, they grow closer together as young men and they form a very intimate bond. It would be nice to write about how they met, one of the many sparring practices that they've been in together that results in one of them finding out that the other is in love with him. When word comes that Helen of Sparta (Sam i guess unless you can fit any other character into this role) has been kidnapped and the men of Greece are called upon to lay siege to Troy in his/her name. Seduced by the promise of a glorious destiny, Dean joins their cause. And torn between love and fear for Dean, Castiel follows him into war. Preferably no character deaths. Severe injury is fine as long as the character recovers!
