Bonus Round 1 is now closed, and Bonus Round 2 is now open!

This round, the theme is holidays/special occasions.

If you have an idea for something you'd like to see, please leave the ship, a holiday/special occasion, and any other details as a PROMPT below. After you've posted, read through everyone else's prompts, and leave a FILL for any which catch your eye. Fills can be in any media, and they need not be long, but please put a little effort in--if anyone starts spamming this post for points, we'll be able to tell.

You should place PROMPT/FILL, your current team affiliation and a brief summary in the comment title. Do not forget to change the title of the comment when posting a FILL as a reply to a PROMPT. NSFW prompts and fills should mention this in the summary or at the top of the post. Reminder that team names must be in alphabetical order (ie. Balthazar/Death, not Death/Balthazar) and that portmanteaus (ie. Lubriel, Annaby) are not allowed when identifying team affiliation.

You will be awarded five points per prompt for the first five prompts you leave. The first three fills posted for each prompt will receive 15 points, the next three 10 points, and the next three 5 points. Prompts with ten or more fills will no longer receive fill points.

Bonus rounds are still rarepair only, but you can post prompts or fills for any rare ship this round, including gen/platonic ones (which should be indicated with an & as above). Due to some unforeseen complication from last round, we have changed the rules. It is now 15 points per fill for the first three fills by three different people. So if someone does a fic for Fill 1 and a fanmix for Fill 2, then get 15 + 10 points, and then Person 2 does a fill and Person 3 does a fill, so even though those would be fills 3 and 4, they count as 15 and 15 points since they're fills by new people. You are still not permitted to fill your own prompt. We also encourage people not to fill prompts from their teammates, although the points will not be deducted if you do.

Bonus round fills can include links provided they are publicly viewable. Works can also be cross-posted to other websites, as there is no anonymity requirement in bonus rounds. However, works posted directly to comments will be limited to 16,000 characters by the Dreamwidth comment limit. Longer works should therefore be divided between multiple comments.

Remember, Team Chuck can participate in bonus rounds, and if you change teams, points earned will transfer with you until the end of the team shuffle period.

This round is now closed.

AU or not; Before winter holidays, Castiel takes an interest in knitting and makes all his friends little goodies such as jumpers, scarves and hats. He takes a particular interest in dressing Balthazar, who wears the ugly jumpers out of pity more so than anything else (pshh, it's absolutely not fondness for his little ruffled angel that makes him wear it) (bonus if Cas refuses to kiss Balth until he puts on the jumper)

"Oh, please, Balthazar, you were complaining about the cold just last week!" Castiel said, fixing the other angel with his best version of puppy dog eyes. Balthazar curled his lip, meeting Castiel’s eyes.

"Oh, but, Cassie, darling, I- it doesn’t go with my shirt."

"Nor does the cold." Castiel argued, quite cleverly in Balthazar’s opinion (damn him).

"Cas, it’s got a cat on it."

”A cute cat.” Castiel said. The patterns he selected were usually exciting, interesting or intricate, mostly so Castiel could better improve his skills. And his skills were, in fact, quite sound - he got better and better at his chosen craft as days went by.

Unfortunately, the patterns were lurid and ridiculous, but not nearly so lurid and ridiculous as the yarn colours he chose.

"A neon green one."

"I won’t kiss you until you wear it." Balthazar gave a long, worn-out sigh. "

"If I must then." He took it from Castiel’s hands and pulled it over his head, enjoying the sudden warmth, as well as the snugness of the tightly knitted, cleverly made garment. Castiel knew his measurements perfectly, and it fit him particularly well. "Thank you, Cassie." Castiel pushed for a kiss and Balthazar dipped closer for it, enjoying the warmth of Castiel’s lips against his own.

"Merry Christmas, Balthazar." Castiel said, and he grinned at the other angel. Balthazar just sighed, a puff of white clouding the hair, and ruffled Castiel’s hair with his hand as he hugged the other man close.

"Merry Christmas to you too, you insufferable little twit." Castiel laughed against his chest and just pressed closer.

((are jumpers the same as sweaters? anyway, i think i got cavities writing this, so cuuuuuute))

"Cas, did you hear me?" Balthazar asked, poking his head in Castiel's room to see why he was not responding. "I said if we don't get to Gabriel's soon he's promised to send a squad of carolers to sing Celine Dion at us until we relent and I really don't think he's kidding this time."

Castiel looked up from the sweater he was carefully knitting. "Oh, yes. Sorry, I just have to finish this and we can go."

Balthazar pushed a pile of yarn off the rocking chair in the corner and sat down with a sigh. "You know, when you first discovered knitting and said you wouldn't stop until you'd made an ugly sweater for each and every one of our siblings, I honestly thought you were being hyperbolic."

Castiel cocked his head at him curiously. "Presenting loved ones with homemade gifts is an old human tradition. And since we are all lacking in wardrobe I thought it would be an appreciated gesture."

"And you couldn't just give them a gift card like everyone else?"

"My sweaters are thicker than any you can find in the shopping mall, I checked. And they aren't ugly. You're wearing one when we go to Gabriel's too."

"Am I? I didn't even know you made me one."

Castiel nodded and stopped knitting long enough to toss what Balthazar had mistaken for another pile of red and green yarn his way. When he held it up it was indeed a sweater, complete with gold and white angel wings knitted in a pattern on the back. "Yours was the first one I made. Those v-necks you wear are hardly winter wear. The lady at the mall suggested knitting when I explained I had a close friend who refused to dress appropriately for the elements."

Balthazar was touched. The sweater was still hideous, but when he imagined Castiel asking total strangers how to make him dress more warmly suddenly the obsession made more sense.

"I have a matching one. So Gabriel and the others know we're together when they see us at the gathering."

Balthazar smiled. "I'm not getting out of this one am I?"

Castiel shook his head and almost smiled. "Nope. Finished," he said, holding up the blue sweater with green and pink candies dancing across in crooked diagonals. "Think he'll like it?"

Balthazar pulled on the sweater and grinned. "He'll like it or else. Come on, don't want to be any later than we already are."

"Right, Celine Dion. Let me just gather all these and we can go."

Castiel stood up and Balthazar pulled him in close for a hug, kissing him quickly on the lips.

"What was that for?" Castiel asked.

"For the sweater. The gift I got for you isn't nearly as thoughtful; not sure how I can thank you."

Castiel laughed. "Oh don't worry, seeing Gabriel's face when he sees you wearing that will be all the thanks I need. Race you to the car!"

Castiel took off running before Balthazar could process what he'd said. "Hey, what do you mean by that?" he shouted, but Castiel was already long gone, giggling all the way.

Christmas is a time for gift giving and what not in the human context. All Balthazar wants really is a kiss from Castiel. Of course he doesn’t know how to come about asking for it. He could get some mistletoe according to the research he’s done all you need would be a sprig of mistletoe and he’d get his kiss. Apparently though they had to be standing under it or something like that.

He sighed as he entered the apartment, “I’m home!” he called as he shrugged out of his thick coat.

“Cas?” he tries again when there is no reply. He heads into the sitting room finding Castiel curled up on the couch, the television still on. A colourful array of bright colourful yarn around his sleeping form, “Well you’ve certainly been busy,” Balthazar whispers as he turns off the television.

Castiel stirs at the silence, opening his eyes he sees Balthazar, “You’re home!” he exclaims as he sits and stretches.

“Yes I’m home,” Balthazar says as he drops into the seat beside him.

Castiel immediately begins to tidy up, holding the knitted jumper to him as he packed away the yarn, “I made you something.”

Balthazar raised a brow, “You didn’t have to, really,” he says but Castiel’s already holding out a jumper to him. It’s green a dark green like that of the pine tree and on the jumper is this huge Christmas tree in the center with tiny little gingerbread men dancing around it.

“I made it specially for you,” Castiel said watching as he took it.

It wasn’t that bad…the colour was alright at least he hadn’t used the bright yarns. But the patterns it was just not him, “Thanks Cassie,” he says as he folds the jumper. He likes it, he really does. It’s the thought that counts and at least now he gets to tell people that Castiel actually knitted something for him, “You could have lost a few of the gingerbreads though.”

Castiel laughs, he’s glad that Balthazar likes it even though it’s a little over crowded with gingerbread men all over it, after all he’d picked up knitting mainly because he wanted to give a proper handmade present to him, “Aren’t you going to wear it?” he asked, “I want to see how it looks like.”

Balthazar shook his head, “No. It’s gonna look weird.”

Now Castiel grins. He knows just exactly what Balthazar’s been after these past few days. He wants a kiss. And Castiel intends to give it to him, only if he puts on the jumper. “No one’s going to see you Balthazar, it’s just me,” Castiel says as he scoots a little closer to Balthazar.

“Still…” Balthazar trails off feeling the warmth of Castiel beside him. He wants to ask so bad. The question is there on the tip of his tongue.

“I’ll kiss you if you wear the jumper.”

Balthazar’s afraid that he hadn’t heard properly. Did Castiel really just say that? He sees Castiel grinning and he growls, “Why you!” He tackled Castiel back into the couch, “You knew all along! You knew what I wanted!” he says as beneath him Castiel was laughing gleefully. “I can’t believe you!” he says shaking his head a smile on his lips. He leaned in to kiss Castiel but he was stopped with a finger to his lips.

“Jumper first,” Castiel says holding him back as he grinned, “then I’ll kiss you.”

“I hate you,” Balthazar muttered as he pulled back.

“I know,” Castiel replied smiling as he watched Balthazar pull on the jumper. It stretched well and hugged his body nicely and Castiel thought he looked really stunning in it. He held out his arms to Balthazar, “Now come and get your kiss.”

“Damn right I deserve it,” Balthazar says as he lowers himself back down to Castiel, warmer now that he has the jumper on. He leans in and presses his lips to Castiel’s kissing him softly as his hand caresses the other’s face and neck. He deepens the kiss, feeling Castiel’s hands tangling in his hair, wanting him closer and he smirks.

‘Best present ever…’
