Bonus Round 2

Bonus Round 1 is now closed, and Bonus Round 2 is now open!

This round, the theme is holidays/special occasions.

If you have an idea for something you'd like to see, please leave the ship, a holiday/special occasion, and any other details as a PROMPT below. After you've posted, read through everyone else's prompts, and leave a FILL for any which catch your eye. Fills can be in any media, and they need not be long, but please put a little effort in--if anyone starts spamming this post for points, we'll be able to tell.

You should place PROMPT/FILL, your current team affiliation and a brief summary in the comment title. Do not forget to change the title of the comment when posting a FILL as a reply to a PROMPT. NSFW prompts and fills should mention this in the summary or at the top of the post. Reminder that team names must be in alphabetical order (ie. Balthazar/Death, not Death/Balthazar) and that portmanteaus (ie. Lubriel, Annaby) are not allowed when identifying team affiliation.

You will be awarded five points per prompt for the first five prompts you leave. The first three fills posted for each prompt will receive 15 points, the next three 10 points, and the next three 5 points. Prompts with ten or more fills will no longer receive fill points.

Bonus rounds are still rarepair only, but you can post prompts or fills for any rare ship this round, including gen/platonic ones (which should be indicated with an & as above). Due to some unforeseen complication from last round, we have changed the rules. It is now 15 points per fill for the first three fills by three different people. So if someone does a fic for Fill 1 and a fanmix for Fill 2, then get 15 + 10 points, and then Person 2 does a fill and Person 3 does a fill, so even though those would be fills 3 and 4, they count as 15 and 15 points since they're fills by new people. You are still not permitted to fill your own prompt. We also encourage people not to fill prompts from their teammates, although the points will not be deducted if you do.

Bonus round fills can include links provided they are publicly viewable. Works can also be cross-posted to other websites, as there is no anonymity requirement in bonus rounds. However, works posted directly to comments will be limited to 16,000 characters by the Dreamwidth comment limit. Longer works should therefore be divided between multiple comments.

Remember, Team Chuck can participate in bonus rounds, and if you change teams, points earned will transfer with you until the end of the team shuffle period.

This round is now closed.

[AU?] in which Balthazar and Castiel go for a walk during Christmas Eve and get into a snowball fight, at the end of which they make snow angels (and possibly make out).

"What on Earth are you doing?” Balthazar is bemused as he says the words, watching Castiel with more than a little mixed amusement and confusion.

"I’m making a snow angel, Balthazar. The humans do it." Balthazar watched his little brother in the snow as he moved his arms and legs, creating an imprint in the snow. "Help me up."

"You can’t stand on your own?"

"No, I’ll make footprints in the angel! C’mon, grab my hands." Balthazar let out a long sigh.

"Oh, if I must." He grasped at Castiel’s hands and pulled him up in a quick motion, fast enough that Castiel stumbled and Balthazar had to catch him under the armpits to prevent him from falling. "You did that on purpose."

"I didn’t." Castiel murmured against Balthazar’s chest, carefully stepping forwards. "Look at it though."

"Ah, yes, well done, a vague silhouette of some woman with a weird dress and odder arms."

"No, those are wings."

"Would you say they looked like your wings, Castiel? Or mine? Or indeed, any angel’s?"

"Well, it’s a human thing, they don’t know.” Balthazar sniffed.

"Don’t know anything." Castiel snorted.

"Let’s go home."

"Don’t you want to make another angel?”

"I want to make another angel scream.” Castiel returned easily, extricating himself from Balthazar’s arms and walking away. For a moment, Balthazar remained still, considering what Castiel had just said. Then, he sprinted to catch up, going as fast as he could manage.

“’Cmon, Cassie, please?”
“No, Balthazar, I am not going outside with you,” Cas grumbled and pulled the blanket around himself tighter.
Balthazar huffed out a sigh and plopped down beside his boyfriend on the floor in front of the fire. “You’re such a spoil-sport,” he complained.
“It’s too damn cold. Why can’t we just stay inside and enjoy the fire?” Cas whined.
“I promise we can cuddle all you want after we get back. Just come on a walk with me. Just a short one. 10 minutes, I promise.”
Cas thought about it a little bit. Balthazar was now giving him that face, the one he could never say no to, and Cas did have to admit that it was always better cuddling in front of the fire after being out in the cold.
“Ugghhh. Fine,” Cas sighed. Balthazar’s face lit up so completely Cas had to hide his small smile in order to maintain his reluctant facade.
Cas struggled into his coat while Balthazar tugged his snow boots on, beaming like a child on Christmas. Well…it was Christmas eve and Cas could certainly make the argument that Balthazar acted like a child more often than he should. Balthazar looped a long white scar around Cas’ neck and tugged him by it out the door.
It had just snowed earlier that day and an even coating of the fluffy whiteness blanketed the earth. It was quiet and peaceful and serene. And cold, but when Balthazar slipped his gloved hand into Castiel’s, Cas found he warmed up quite quickly.
They walked down the sidewalk, hand-in-hand, chatting about whatever came up, and of course, Balthazar never failed to be blabbering on about something or another. Cas mostly just listened, as usual, but he was happy that way. When they reached the park, Cas suggested they turn back, complaining that the cold had made it through his boots and his toes were now loosing feeling, albeit, over exaggerating little. He just wanted to get back to the fireplace and curl up with his lover. Balthazar deflated a little, but didn’t argue.
“Alright, we can go back, love…but hold on, I just…” Balthazar looked back at the undisturbed sheet of white covering the ground so perfectly in the park and he just couldn’t resist. He flopped down on his back with a grin a mile wide.
Staring up at the sky, he moved his arms and legs to make a snow angel.
Cas sighed and looked down at his lover not even trying to hide his smile this time. “You’re going to get all wet and freeze to death,” Cas mocked lovingly.
Balthazar stopped, pulling himself up to sitting and looked up at Castiel. “Not if I have you to keep me warm,” he retorted. Balthazar grasped the back of Cas’ legs and pulled the other man down on top of him, holding Cas’ body close against his as they lay in the snow.
Cas laughed and just as the snow began to fall from the sky again, their lips met and just like that Cas changed his mind about going back so soon.

The first snowball hit him slid off his shoulder, cold and sopping wet. Castiel immediately readied one and threw it across; it landed neatly down the front of Balthazar’s chest and Castiel giggled.

“Got you,” he proclaimed triumphant.

Balthazar smirked, “Oh you do not want to do that Cassie.”

Castiel readied another snowball and this time his aim was a little off as the other exposed him it hit Balthazar in the shoulder. Grinning devilishly Balthazar easily scooped up snow, balled it and then tossed it at him. Castiel yelped at the sudden cold and was soon moving out of Balthazar line of sight.

It had turned into an all out snowball fight.

------

At the end of it all, they fell down into the snow together side by side still grinning at each other. Then Castiel began to move his arms and legs.

“What are you doing?” Balthazar asked watching him. If it had been anyone else he would have said he looked ridiculously stupid but it being Cas, he thought it was cute if not a little odd.

“Making a snow angel,” Castiel replied, “it’s what the humans do. You should try it,” Castiel insists as he turned his head and looked to Balthazar.

“That’s ridiculous,” but Balthazar obliged and moved his arms and legs making his own snow angel.

------

“It looks odd,” Balthazar murmured as he draped an arm around Castiel’s shoulder, pulling him closer for warmth.

Castiel smiled, there was something about looking at the two oddly shaped angels next to each other, one bigger and the other slightly smaller, that made him happy, “I think it looks perfect,” he says.

Balthazar shook his head, “You always think everything looks perfect.”

Castiel grinned, “Do you want to know why?” he asked as he leaned in to Balthazar, his arms going around the blonde’s neck.

“Tell me,” Balthazar whispered.

“Because I’m with you,” Castiel breathed against his lips and then leaned in to kiss him, “and everything is always perfect, when I’m with you.”
