srs2013 | Bonus Round 1

Bonus Round 0 is now closed, and Bonus Round 1 is now open! Let's get creating, shall we?

This round, the theme is book-based AUs.

If you have an idea for something you'd like to see, please leave a book title, the characters involved, and any other details as a PROMPT below. Then read through everyone else's prompts, and leave a FILL for any which catch your eye. Fills can be in any media, and they need not be long, but please put a little effort in--if anyone starts spamming this post for points, we'll be able to tell.

You should place PROMPT/FILL, your current team affiliation and a brief summary in the comment title. NSFW prompts and fills should mention this in the summary or at the top of the post.

You will be awarded five points per prompt for the first five prompts you leave. The first three fills posted for each prompt will receive 15 points, the next three 10 points, and the next three 5 points. Prompts with ten or more fills will no longer receive fill points.

Bonus rounds are still rarepair only, but you can post prompts or fills for any rare ship this round, including gen/platonic ones (which should be indicated with an & as above). However, you may not fill your own prompt. We also encourage people not to fill prompts from their teammates, although the points will not be deducted if you do.

Bonus round fills can include links provided they are publicly viewable. Works can also be cross-posted to other websites, as there is no anonymity requirement in bonus rounds. However, works posted directly to comments will be limited to 16,000 characters by the Dreamwidth comment limit. Longer works should therefore be divided between multiple comments.

Remember, Team Chuck can participate in bonus rounds, and if you change teams, points earned will transfer with you until the end of the team shuffle period.

This round will close on October 6.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Okay, so obviously, there's no way someone's going to write a whole AU based off all 1232-pages of Les Mis, so picking any scene or dynamic is fine. ^^ With any characters as anyone. Barricade boys at La Musain, the confrontation of Valjean and Javert, the death of Fantine - even one of Marius and Cosette's romantic rendez-vous would be fine~<3
Personally, I can see Lucifer taking Enjolras' or Valjean's role really easily, with Michael as Javert, but really, free reign. Do what you want.

Gabriel trudged up the stairs, his mud caked boots leaving prints which disappeared into the already filthy floor. He was greeted by the sound of his brothers’ merriment- well, all were merry bar one. He slipped in and stood against the wall and observed, as their leader stood up, passionately speaking as the rest paid little attention, their drunken state filtering out what was being said.

“Castiel, dear brother, can you not give the talk of revolution a rest for one night? You will have no comrades to support you if you bore them all to death.”

“The revolution cannot wait Gabriel, surely you understand that.” Despite this, he sat down and let the intoxicated babble of his peers take over; all stopped paying attention to him bar one. Gabriel studied his friend Balthazar, who appeared to be too drunk to notice that Castiel had stopped talking, and still started contently at him. “So Gabriel, what brought you here to grace us with your presence? It has been a while.”

“I have splendid news brothers; I am in love!” He was received with a collective drunken guffaw.

“Who’s the lucky victim?” Lucifer asked, downing the rest of his drink.

“Well, I’m not sure of their name yet, but I’m sure it’s as beautiful as their face. Oh, if only you could have seen then! You surely would have fallen in love with them too!”

“What do you know of love?” Balthazar slurred, the alcohol making him sound almost accusatory.

“What else could this feeling be? I feel as if a ghost has visited me and haunts me still; I see shapes in the corner of my eye, my mind playing tricks on me that they are there. I cannot free myself from the hold they have over me, nor do I want to be free. What else would you call this?” Gabriel defended himself to a distracted Balthazar, who seemed to be more amused by the shiny buttons on Castiel’s coat than what he had to say, but he nodded to concede.

“Balthazar, you have let the wine go to your brain, as usual, but Gabriel, what has possessed you? I thought you would be above such childish notions and be able to focus on our task here." Castiel chastised. Gabriel opened his mouth to defend himself but Balthazar interrupted-

“What do you mean by ‘as usual’?” his trademark smirk appeared- his defensive amour.

“You are my brother and comrade, and I feel nothing but fondness for you, but you are useless. You are a child scared of the dark, a good for nothing fool. Why can’t you take our cause more seriously?”

“I would follow you into the dark.” He murmured, his words hanging in the air. He grabbed a bottle of wine, and poured the contents into his mouth instead of his glass, as his peers understood the meaning of his words.

“Come brothers,” an oblivious Castiel began- “no more frivolous talk, we must make our plans.”

Balthazar decided to live up to his leader’s expectations as a good for nothing drunk.
