(Castiel/Bela Talbot)--setup with Cas as Gold-Eye, Bela as Ninde, Anna as Ella, Uriel as Drum, Naomi as Shade, and Leviathans as the Overlords--After escaping the prison-like dorms set up by the Leviathans to hold all children under the age of fourteen, Castiel manages to stay on the run for a year before he is nearly captured again. At last minute he is rescued by a group of three strangers (Anna, Bela and Uriel) and taken to a secret base, which he later discovers is an organization of underground resistance against the Leviathans. Here he meets the leader of the organization, the mysterious Naomi, a former scientist who uploaded her consciousness into a computer just before the Change.

Castiel is teamed up with Anna, Uriel, and Bela for missions, and he becomes attracted to the headstrong Bela. They eventually form a fragile relationship that threatens to tear itself apart as their lives are constantly put in danger from the missions Naomi sends them on. As events unfold, Castiel begins to question the motives of Naomi's orders and plans. She seems to be gradually becoming more brutal and cold, as if hiding a secret agenda, and Cas realizes that perhaps he and the others may be in danger from more than simply the opposition of the Leviathans.
