Sam is a fireman who has trouble sleeping at night, and so instead he goes on walks after dinner with his brother, Dean. On one of these ventures he finds Amelia, a peculiar woman staring up at the sky, and spends the rest of his walk in her company. They wander for their own reasons; he in hopes of airing book-smoke from his skin and troubling thoughts from his mind, she for fresh air and a moment of peace from her empty house and absent husband.
